Oracle EPM's Bursting Email feature has been enhanced with two powerful options: Consolidate Attachments and Zip Attachments. These options significantly reduce email clutter when distributing reports to multiple recipients across your organization.
Consolidate Attachments
When enabled, Consolidate Attachments combines all bursting output email attachments for a single user into one email. Instead of receiving separate emails for each generated report, recipients get a single email with all their reports attached. For newly created bursting definitions, this option is enabled by default.
Zip Attachments
The Zip Attachments option goes a step further — it packages all attachments into a single ZIP file. You can also specify a ZIP File Folder Path to organize files within the ZIP archive. When duplicate file names exist, the system automatically appends numbered suffixes.
How to Configure
In your Bursting Definition, select the Email channel. Click Edit on Bursting Email to configure the Subject and Message body. Then enable Consolidate Attachments and optionally Zip Attachments. You can use text functions like DateTime, ArtifactName, and ArtifactDescription in both the attachment name and email fields.
Why This Matters
For organizations with hundreds of cost centers or entities, bursting can generate a massive volume of emails. These options transform the experience from inbox overload to clean, organized report distribution.
