Module based Planning implementations. Adding Financials, Workforce, Capital or Projects to an application you already run is a defined project with a defined end, and it is where one senior architect does the work of a team: design the module, build it, load actuals, prove the numbers, train the admin. Full multi module programs across regions are partner led, and I join those as the Planning architect. The stack is the same either way: Data Integration, EPM Automate, Smart View, Essbase, Groovy, and Hyperion migration where a legacy application is involved.

What is Oracle Planning (PBCS and EPBCS)?+
Oracle Planning is the cloud platform for financial and operational planning. PBCS is the Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service. EPBCS is the enterprise version, with prebuilt modules for financials, workforce, capital, and projects. Both run annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and scenario models on a single governed platform.
How long does an Oracle Planning implementation take?+
A focused implementation usually runs 10 to 16 weeks, depending on the number of modules, integrations, and entities. Performance reengineering on an existing system is shorter, often 2 to 6 weeks. I give you a timeline tied to confirmed scope, not a vague estimate.
Our Oracle Planning is slow. Can it be fixed without rebuilding?+
Usually, yes. Most performance problems trace to business rules, Essbase outline design, or heavy forms, and they resolve with a targeted reengineering pass. A full rebuild is rarely necessary.
Can you migrate our Hyperion Planning to Oracle Cloud EPM?+
Yes. I migrate on-premise Hyperion Planning to Oracle Cloud EPM, mapping existing metadata, business rules, and integrations to their cloud equivalents, and validating that results tie out before cutover.
What is the difference between PBCS and EPBCS?+
PBCS is the core Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service. EPBCS adds Oracle's prebuilt planning modules, which speed up delivery when your needs match the framework. I help you choose the right fit rather than over-buying.
Do you offer ongoing Oracle Planning administration?+
Yes. Many clients keep me on month to month for metadata changes, new forms and rules, user management, and monthly patch reviews. The same senior architect stays with the system rather than a rotating team.
Do you implement Oracle Planning modules, or only fix existing applications?+
Both. I implement single modules and focused Planning applications directly: Financials, Workforce, Capital or Projects added to an application you already run, or a new Planning application with one or two modules in scope, in 10 to 16 weeks. I also reengineer and rescue applications built by others, and run managed services after go-live. What I do not do alone is a multi module program across regions with an ERP rollout alongside it; on those I join the partner leading the program as the Planning architect.
Is FMEPM a consulting firm or an independent consultant?+
FMEPM is a small consulting practice in Ontario, and I lead every engagement myself. For Oracle EPM I work two ways: directly for finance teams on single module implementations, reengineering, rescue and managed services, and alongside consulting firms and system integrators as a senior architect on larger programs. The person you meet at discovery is the person who designs and builds the application. Either way you get documentation written as the build goes, recorded walkthroughs your team keeps, and every change proven side by side against the previous numbers.
What happens if you are unavailable during my project?+
Two things protect the project. First, the build is documented as it goes: design decisions, integration setup, rule logic and admin steps are written down and recorded on screen, so nothing lives only in my head. Second, I work with a small network of senior EPM specialists I have delivered with before, and one of them is briefed to step in on an NSPB or Planning project if I cannot continue. The documentation is what makes that possible.
Do you work with companies outside Canada?+
Yes. Oracle EPM and NSPB work is delivered remotely for finance teams in Canada, the United States, Europe and Australia, with on-site time when a project needs it. My working window runs 6 AM to 8 PM Eastern, Monday to Friday. Within it I keep 11 AM to 5 PM London time for European clients and 8 AM to 5 PM Pacific for the US West Coast. Statutory items such as tax, VAT and local reporting live in your ERP and stay with your ERP partner. The planning application works across subsidiaries and currencies on top of the actuals the ERP already holds, so the project does not need an office in each country.
