Oracle EPM 26.11. What Matters in the November Update

Oracle's 26.11 document is out: 51 features and 19 important actions. Test environments update on Friday, November 6, production on Friday, November 20. The big story is the platform opening up: 141 new REST APIs, 33 more for Strategic Modeling, and AI skills that run on them. Two things stop working on November 20. Here is what matters.

Same format as every month: what changed, why it matters, what to do. Short sentences, no filler. If you have two minutes, read the list below and the calendar at the bottom. The rest can wait for a quiet afternoon.

In 30 seconds
  1. 141 new Platform REST APIs for Planning and FreeForm, plus 33 for Strategic Modeling: applications, cubes, dimensions, rules, forms, dashboards, data, jobs, approvals, variables, connections and Insights, all callable. The biggest API release in years, and the layer AI assistants and connectors run on.
  2. Fourteen new AI skills and assistants: eleven admin skills (security, audit, files, migration, Essbase diagnostics, concurrent testing), a Data Exploration skill, Strategic Modeling skills, and assistants for IPM Insights, PCM, FCC consolidation rules and Transaction Matching.
  3. Two things stop on November 20: the accountName.userName login format for EPM Automate and REST, and the original PCM Agent with its Performance Assistant. Parked environments get a clock: three months on a one off patch or a skipped update, six with Oracle's approval.
  4. Smart View 26.200 is out: IPM Insights in Smart View, reports in PowerPoint, better member search. FCC gets up to four more consolidation cubes and two assistants. IPM Insights get a place on dashboards and an analysis of the why.
  5. A date moved: the TM_AUDIT_TRAIL change in Transaction Matching is now February (27.02), not November. New for December: only Service Administrators and the Audit role read EDM system events.
If you lead financeNothing changes on the planners' screens on November 20 unless your admin installs Smart View 26.200, which is worth doing. Two things to ask your admin: that every script and integration logs in with a plain user name (the older account prefixed format stops), and that no environment sits on a skipped update for more than three months. Both are on the checklist.

EPM Automate and the REST APIs stop accepting the accountName.userName login format

EPM Automate26.11AdminDevDeadline: 26.11, Nov 20Oracle's page ↗
What changed
From 26.11, the EPM Automate login command and the user name you send to a REST API accept the plain user name only (example.user@example.com). The older form with the cloud account in front, written as account.user, is no longer accepted. Both forms worked until now.
Why it matters
Any script, scheduler or integration that still logs in with the prefixed form fails on November 20 in production, on November 6 in test. The error looks like a wrong password, and the person who wrote the script may have left. This is the one change this month that stops a batch at 2 AM.
What to do
Search every EPM Automate script, every REST call in your integration tool and every stored connection for a user name with a dot before the address. Switch to the plain user name and rerun in test after November 6. If the account prefix was the only way you told two tenants apart, name the connection instead.
My take
Oracle announced this in 26.08 as a November change, so most teams have had a quarter. The ones I worry about are the scripts nobody owns. A grep across the scheduler's folder takes ten minutes and tells you.

Parked environments: three months on a one off patch or a skipped update, six with Oracle's approval

Administration26.11AdminDeadline: in effect now, three month clockOracle's page ↗
What changed
Effective immediately, an environment can stay on a one off patch for three months at most. An exception needs Oracle's approval and adds three months, six in total. Within that window, if the regression is fixed in a monthly update, Oracle moves the environment back to the main code line. If it is not fixed, Oracle moves it to a new one off patch built on the latest code line, so it stays current and keeps the fix. The same three plus three months apply to Skip Update and Manual Skip Update.
Why it matters
Until now a skipped update could drift for a long time. Now there is a clock, and Oracle keeps it. An environment that skipped 26.09 in September reaches three months in December and moves forward, with or without a regression test on your side.
What to do
List every environment that is on a one off patch or has skipped an update, with the date it left the main line. Put the three month mark in the calendar. Plan the regression test for the return, and ask Oracle for the extension early if you need it.
My take
A clear rule beats a quiet drift. Three months is enough to fix a regression on Oracle's side, and it stops the slow build up of environments that are too far behind to update safely. If you run a go live or a stabilisation on a one off patch, write the return date into the plan on day one.

Enterprise PCM: the original PCM Agent and the PCM Agent Performance Assistant are gone

PCM26.11AdminUserDeadline: 26.11, Nov 20Oracle's page ↗
What changed
Oracle's 26.11 document says it plainly: the original PCM Agent and the PCM Agent Performance Assistant have been decommissioned and are no longer available. The enhanced PCM Agent is the one agent from now on. It took over the calculation performance analysis in 26.10, and in 26.11 it gains the mass edit integration described below.
Why it matters
Anyone who still opens the original agent from a bookmark or a saved link finds nothing after the update. The commands are the same in spirit, the screen is different, and the performance analysis now lives in the same chat.
What to do
Tell the modellers before November 6 in test and November 20 in production. Point them at the enhanced PCM Agent and at Oracle's Working with the Enhanced PCM Agent page. If a runbook names the Performance Assistant, update it.
My take
Nobody loses a capability here; they lose a second place to look for it. One agent that lists rules, runs calculations and explains the slow ones is the right shape. The PCM teams I work with spend their time in rule sets and run statistics, and this is where both now live.

EPM Automate: clients older than 26.09 and the old password file stop with 26.12, on December 18

EPM Automate26.11AdminDevDeadline: 26.12, Dec 18Oracle's page ↗
What changed
Starting with 26.12, Cloud EPM environments no longer accept EPM Automate clients bundled with 26.08 or earlier, and they read only the new password file format (.epw) that EPM Automate 26.09 or later writes. Environments on 26.09, 26.10 and 26.11 read both formats, which is why nothing has broken yet. One note from Oracle: if you use a password file with the EPM Integration Agent, keep the file generated by the 26.08 or earlier encrypt command until the agent itself is on 26.10 or later.
Why it matters
December 18 falls inside year end close for most finance teams. A client that was never upgraded, or a password file that was never regenerated, stops the loads on the busiest week of the year.
What to do
Upgrade EPM Automate to 26.09 or later on every machine that runs it, including the scheduler boxes nobody logs into. Run the encrypt command again on each one and replace the old .epw files. Check the Integration Agent is on 26.10 or later before you replace its file. Do it in November, not December.
My take
This is the second month I put this card in Act now, on purpose. The cutoff is set, the work is small, and the date is the worst possible one to find out.

Generative AI features need 26.08 or later by the end of January 2027

AI26.11AdminDeadline: Jan 31, 2027Oracle's page ↗
What changed
Oracle repeats the January rule in the 26.11 document: an environment that is not on 26.08 or later by the end of January 2027 loses access to the Generative AI features. With the new cadence policy above, an environment that is still below 26.08 is already outside the three month window.
Why it matters
This only touches environments parked on a one off patch or a skipped update. For them it is two deadlines that now point the same way: the three month clock and the January rule.
What to do
If any environment is below 26.08, plan its return to the main line now and use the January date as the latest acceptable end, not the target.

141 new Platform REST APIs: applications, cubes, dimensions, rules, forms, dashboards, data, jobs, approvals and more

REST API26.11AdminDevArrives onOracle's page ↗
What changed
One update, 141 new REST APIs for Planning and FreeForm. Core platform: applications (7), cubes (3), dimensions and members (12, including batch save, dynamic children and a secured member search), Calculation Manager (16: list, create, validate and deploy rules and rule sets), form definitions (5) and dashboard definitions (6). Data and workflow: data export and import (10, including ad hoc, slice and MDX export against a cube), jobs (5), approval units (6), substitution variables (8), user variables (7), profiles and points of view (9) and user preferences (9). Semantics and intelligence: Business Concepts (27 across three groups), Insights (4), the IPM calendar (2) and service connections (5). Oracle says these are the APIs its own Data Exploration skill uses.
Why it matters
Until now a lot of automation and every AI connector worked around gaps: no API to read a form definition, to save a rule, to walk an approval unit or to set a user variable. Those gaps close in one release. Anything that reads or writes Planning from outside, a scheduler, an integration tool, a chatbot, a connector like FMEPM Connect, can now do it the supported way.
What to do
Read the list once with your automation in front of you and mark every workaround that an API now replaces. The exportDataSlice and MDX export calls are the ones to try first; they return a JSON grid without a saved form. If you build or buy an AI connector, ask which of these it uses.
My take
This is the biggest API release I have seen in Oracle EPM, and it is the layer FMEPM Connect sits on. Oracle built these for its own agent skills and published them for everyone, which is the right call. The Business Concepts APIs are the quiet surprise: a semantic layer you can read and write by REST is what makes an assistant answer the question you meant rather than the member you named.

Four more REST API families: dashboards, worklists, connections and Insight details

REST API26.11AdminDevArrives onOracle's page ↗
What changed
Dashboards: create, get, update, replace and delete a dashboard definition, update one component, and export and import dashboard data, including writes to form backed components (Planning, FreeForm, FCC, Enterprise PCM and Account Reconciliation). Worklist: the consolidated worklist and its summary counts (total, overdue, due today, due in seven days), for the current user or any user, over alerts, authorization requests, journals, forms, reassignments and schedule tasks (Planning and FreeForm). Connections: Service Administrators create, read, update and delete EPM, NetSuite, Fusion and web service connections, with OAuth 2.0 where the provider supports it, and credentials never come back in a read. Insight details: one Planning Insight by its UUID, with its metadata, status and analyzer slice.
Why it matters
Dashboards as code, a worklist an agent can watch, connection rotation from a pipeline, and insights that a report can pull by ID. Each one used to need a person in the browser.
What to do
If your dashboards are maintained in several environments, try the dashboard definition export and import between test and production. If you rotate credentials on a schedule, put the connection APIs in that script. The worklist summary is a small, useful thing to show on a team page.
My take
The worklist APIs are the sleeper. A close checklist that an assistant can read and summarise is the first thing finance teams ask an AI for, and this is the supported way to feed it.

Strategic Modeling: 33 REST APIs and the AI skills that run on them

REST API26.11AdminDevUserSetup requiredOracle's page ↗Send to your admin
What changed
33 new REST APIs for Strategic Modeling: models, rollups and templates (8), accounts and the audit trail (3), reports (2), account values and a data slice export (2), a read only Goal Seek (1), scenarios (7: read, and with approval create, import a slice and calculate; update and delete are disabled), rollups (7, read only; add, delete and execute are disabled) and templates (3). On top of them, the new Strategic Modeling skills: explore a model, trend an account over periods, compare scenarios and compute variances, inspect formulas and contributors, rank drivers, map a business objective to candidate accounts, preview a Goal Seek without touching a scenario, and prepare a new scenario from a parent, apply approved inputs, calculate and read the results back. No new models, no Monte Carlo, no edits or deletes of existing scenarios, no rollup execution.
Why it matters
Strategic Modeling has been the one Planning module you could only drive by hand. Now a script can read it and an assistant can run a what if, inside clear limits.
What to do
If you run Strategic Modeling, enable the skills in a test environment and try the scenario workflow: proposal, approval, inherited scenario, calculation, read back. Check who holds the shared authentication; the skills honour the user's own rights.
My take
The design is cautious in the right places. Read everything, create only inherited scenarios, and only after approval. That is how I would want a model that feeds the board deck to be touched by an agent.

Eleven admin skills: security, audit, files, migration, Essbase diagnostics and concurrent testing, as questions

AI26.11AdminSetup requiredOracle's page ↗
What changed
New Cloud EPM AI Skills for the infrastructure side of an environment, across eleven areas: access control and identity reports (role and group assignments, logins, invalid logins, assignment audits), environment, services and maintenance (maintenance time, build version, session timeout, skipped updates, email domain policy, and prepared operations for restart, recreate, clone and restore), Essbase block analysis, Essbase data export, files with Object Storage and SFTP, identity and access management (users, groups, memberships, role assignments), migration and application snapshots, query governor settings, security administration (virus scanning, restricted data access, Oracle manual database access, the encryption key), simulate concurrent usage, and user activity reports. The skills use the shared authentication skill, honour the rights of the person asking, and need exact approval before most operations that change anything or start work.
Why it matters
This is the EPM Automate command set with a conversation on top. The repetitive admin jobs, who has which role, when is the maintenance window, pull last night's activity report, become questions.
Steps to enable
Getting Started with Cloud EPM AI Skills in the Getting Started Guide for Administrators.
What to do
Enable the skills in test, as Oracle's Getting Started with Cloud EPM AI Skills describes, and start with the read only ones: the access reports and the activity reports. Keep the operations that change state behind the approval step; do not turn it off to save clicks.
My take
The approval before every change is the part I like. It is the same rule I built into FMEPM Connect: an assistant proposes, a person confirms, the log records both. Oracle landing on the same shape is a good sign for how this will be run in regulated finance teams.

The Platform Data Exploration skill: ask about applications, cubes, members, forms and the numbers behind them

AI26.11AdminUserSetup requiredOracle's page ↗Send to your admin
What changed
A new skill that inspects applications, cubes or plan types, dimensions, members, forms, dashboards and selected Planning values through Oracle's packaged EPM Client Library. A metadata question goes straight to the right operation. A business data question finds a relevant saved form, or reads the form or dashboard you name, and checks the scenario, version, period, entity and currency before answering. A bounded ad hoc retrieval covers slices no form represents. Follow up questions reuse the context and fetch fresh values. Writes are disabled in this skill; a persisted import needs a separately enabled host with review, approval, drift checks and read back. One caution from Oracle: form and dashboard exports can run configured load rules, so a read can have server side effects.
Why it matters
This is Oracle's own answer to "can I ask the planning application a question". It reads through forms, so the security and the POV the user already has apply.
Steps to enable
Getting Started with Cloud EPM AI Skills in the Getting Started Guide for Administrators.
What to do
Enable it in test with a planner who asks the questions you expect in month end. Watch how it picks the form, and whether the POV it reports is the one the planner meant. Check which forms run load rules on export before you let it loose.
My take
Read only, form driven, coordinates checked before the answer. That is the pattern I would want. The question for any assistant on Planning is still the same one I demonstrated in October: when a number changes in Oracle, does the assistant read it again or repeat what it said. Test that first.

Activity reports and access logs by REST, and audit reports by number of days

REST API26.11AdminDevArrives onOracle's page ↗
What changed
New REST APIs list the available Activity Reports and Access Logs, return the full JSON of the latest or a chosen Activity Report, and return the latest or a chosen Access Log as CSV, with filters on date, time range, user, screen and action. No more scanning the repository path and unzipping. Separately, the Role Assignment Audit, Group Assignment Audit, User Login and Invalid Login reports, by REST and by EPM Automate, now take a number of days ending today instead of a start and end date.
Why it matters
Monitoring and security reviews stop being a manual download. A nightly job can pull the activity report, keep the slow requests, and pull the last seven days of logins for the review.
What to do
Replace any script that downloads activity reports through the repository with the new calls. Switch recurring audit reports to the number of days option so nobody edits dates every Monday.
My take
Small change, large relief for the person who owns the monthly access review.

Smart View 26.200: IPM Insights in Smart View, reports in PowerPoint, better member search

Smart View26.11AdminUserSetup requiredOracle's page ↗Send to your admin
What changed
A new Smart View for Office, version 26.200, on My Oracle Support and Oracle Technical Resources. New in it: IPM Insights inside Smart View, including the period movement variance insight and contextual insights for forms; work on Reports in Microsoft PowerPoint; a preferred option for member search and the hierarchy of a member from a flat search result; open a flex form as a regular form from a task list or the right click menu; and a health check for the shared WebView2 runtime. Plus the usual fixes.
Why it matters
Smart View versions are a client install, so this reaches users only when someone installs it. The Insights in Smart View and the PowerPoint reports are the two reasons to do it this month.
Steps to enable
Download and install Smart View 26.200 from My Oracle Support or Oracle Technical Resources. See Downloading and Installing Clients in Getting Started for Users.
What to do
Install 26.200 on one test machine, open a form with insights behind it, and build one report page in PowerPoint. Then plan the rollout with the desktop team; a health check line for WebView2 tells you which machines need the runtime first.
My take
Reports in PowerPoint is the one finance users have asked for since Reports replaced Financial Reporting. The month end deck with live Oracle numbers inside it is finally a supported workflow.

MDX forms with a query editor, and a REST API that runs an MDX query without a saved form

Dashboards26.11AdminDevArrives onOracle's page ↗
What changed
Form authoring gains a query editor for MDX, with a query generated from an existing classic form layout as the starting point. Member selection driven by data, ranking, filtering and calculations happen at query time. A new REST API runs a custom MDX query against a cube and returns a JSON grid, with no form created or saved. Oracle aims this at teams moving to FreeForm from Essbase, who can reuse their MDX; existing Essbase queries may need changes.
Why it matters
Top ten customers by revenue, this quarter, as a form, without a Groovy rule to build the member list. And a data pull by query for an integration, without a throwaway form in the library.
What to do
Take one form that depends on a rule to pick its members and rebuild it as an MDX form in test. Compare the open time. For integrations, try the MDX export API against the slice you export most.
My take
For Planning teams this is the first alternative to rule driven member lists. For Essbase teams moving to FreeForm it removes the biggest reason to keep the old cube alive.

IPM Insights on a dashboard, and Insights Analysis that explains the why

AI26.11AdminUserPotential setupOracle's page ↗Send to your admin
What changed
Two things. First, Dashboards 2.0 can show the top insights, as cards or as a table; with a dashboard set as the landing page, planners see the relevant insights at login, and from each one can open the detail, an ad hoc grid, or dismiss it. Administrators add an Insights component in the Dashboards Designer and choose which insights appear. Second, Insights Analysis, for Planning and FreeForm: from an insight, a key contributor analysis shows where the variance sits across dimensions, and a variance decomposition explains what it is made of, with three supported relationships: price, volume and mix for revenue, a foreign exchange split, and a third Oracle describes on its page. The insight says what happened; the analysis says why.
Why it matters
Insights were a page you had to visit. Now they are the first thing on the screen, and the follow up question, why, has a button.
Steps to enable
In the Dashboards Designer, add an Insights component to the dashboard, then pick which insights appear in the Insights Property panel.
What to do
Run the Insights job in test, add the component to one landing dashboard, and try the analysis on a revenue variance. Decide which insight types belong on the landing page before you switch it on for everyone.
My take
The price volume mix decomposition is the one FP&A will use. It is the question every variance review starts with, and it has needed a spreadsheet until now.

EPM Assistants: an IPM Insights Assistant for Fusion AI Agent Studio

AI26.11AdminUserSetup requiredOracle's page ↗
What changed
A downloadable assistant template for AI Agent Studio that retrieves, validates and presents IPM Insights. Three paths: by Insight ID when you already have one, by business process context when you want the applicable insights, and with no context when you want the open insights. The idea is an agentic app that lists insights as selectable items and fetches the detail for the one you pick.
Why it matters
Insights become something an agent can hand to a person in a chat, with the same validation the page does.
Steps to enable
Use the steps in How to Use EPM Assistants with AI Agent Studio in the Getting Started Guide for Administrators.
What to do
Download the template from the Downloads page and register it in AI Agent Studio, following Oracle's How to Use EPM Assistants with AI Agent Studio. Pair it with the Insight details REST API above if you build your own.

FCC: up to four more consolidation cubes in a Hybrid DSO application

FCC26.11AdminSetup requiredOracle's page ↗
What changed
Financial Consolidation and Close now supports up to four additional consolidation cubes in new and existing Hybrid applications on the Dense or Sparse Optimization model. Administrators enable them as needed to spread data: historical periods, constant currency analysis, management reporting, disclosure detail. The additional cubes share the application's dimensions and settings, and processing and reporting activities let you pick the cube.
Why it matters
The main consolidation cube stops carrying everything. History and management views move out, the consolidation that matters runs on less data, and the close gets faster without a second application.
Steps to enable
Enable the additional consolidation cubes in the application settings of a Hybrid application that uses the Dense or Sparse Optimization (DSO) model. See Administering Financial Consolidation and Close.
What to do
If your consolidation times have grown with the years of data in the cube, read Oracle's Administering Financial Consolidation and Close on enabling additional cubes, and test one: move the historical years and time the consolidation again.
My take
This is the FCC change of the year for large applications. Splitting history and management reporting into their own cubes is what consolidation teams have done by hand with separate applications and data maps; now it is one application with cube selection.

FCC: a Configurable Consolidation Rules Assistant, and a Data Retrieval Diagnosis Assistant

AI26.11AdminSetup requiredOracle's page ↗
What changed
Two assistants in the FCC chatbot, both behind the GenAI setting. The Configurable Consolidation Rules Assistant takes a rule described in a sentence, generates the rule configuration and creates it after you confirm. The Data Retrieval Diagnosis Assistant diagnoses a slow form or saved Smart View ad hoc grid: it checks the Data Retrieval Diagnosis setting, submits and watches the diagnostic job, and recommends fixes for the known causes, solve order, level 0 dynamic calc members without a valid formula, unsupported entity storage, asymmetric layouts. It can show a previous result for the same form or run again, and gives an HTML summary when there is something to act on. It recommends; it does not change forms or metadata.
Why it matters
The slow form investigation used to mean a diagnostic log and someone who could read it. Now the chatbot reads it and names the cause.
Steps to enable
Enable GenAI. See Enabling AI in Financial Consolidation and Close.
What to do
Enable GenAI in a test FCC application, turn on Data Retrieval Diagnosis, and point the assistant at your slowest form. For the rules assistant, describe one consolidation rule you know well and compare what it builds with yours before you let it create anything.
My take
The diagnosis assistant is the practical one. Four causes explain most slow FCC forms, and this checks all four.

FCC: metadata validation moves to the Recommendations page

FCC26.11AdminArrives onOracle's page ↗
What changed
Metadata validation results now appear on the Recommendations page, next to the other application recommendations. Rescan runs the validation for every enabled cube; the page filters by one or more cubes. Oracle marks this as a larger scale change because it moves a screen admins use.
Why it matters
One page for what is wrong with the application and what to do about it, instead of two. With more cubes per application (above), the cube filter matters.
What to do
Open Recommendations after the update and run Rescan once, so the first time you look for the validation results is not during a close.

FCC: create a consolidation journal, or update one in Working status, by REST

FCC26.11AdminDevArrives onOracle's page ↗
What changed
A new REST API creates consolidation journals and updates journals that are still in Working status. It takes the journal details, the point of view and the debit and credit lines; leave the label out and the API generates one. It joins the journal action APIs that arrived in 26.10.
Why it matters
Journals from a sub ledger, an allocation engine or a reclass workbook can land in FCC without a person typing them.
What to do
If you have a recurring journal that someone keys in from a spreadsheet, this is the one to automate first: create it in Working status, let the owner review and post.

Cross environment connections with OAuth 2.0, and a Fusion Application Cloud Provider connection type

Integrations26.11AdminSetup requiredOracle's page ↗
What changed
Two connection changes. Cross environment connections between EPM environments can use OAuth 2.0 when the identity domain of the target accepts it, so REST calls between environments run without a stored password. And a new connection type, Oracle Fusion Application Cloud Provider, connects an EPM environment to Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP for server to server integration.
Why it matters
Passwords in connection definitions are the thing security reviews flag first. OAuth between environments and to Fusion ERP removes them.
Steps to enable
See Configuring Connection to Fusion Applications REST APIs in the Getting Started Guide for Administrators, and Authentication with OAuth 2 in REST APIs for Oracle Fusion Cloud EPM.
What to do
Check whether your identity domain accepts OAuth 2.0 connections. If it does, recreate the test to production and ERP connections with it, one at a time, and keep the old one until the new one has run a full cycle.
My take
Together with last month's OAuth for Fusion REST calls, the stored password is on its way out of EPM integrations. Good.

Data Exchange connects to NetSuite with OAuth 2.0, for NSPB Sync and the EPM Connector

Integrations26.11AdminArrives onOracle's page ↗
What changed
Data Exchange now supports OAuth 2.0 for NetSuite, with the authorization code grant, for both NSPB Sync and the EPM Connector. Administrators enter the consumer key and secret, generate the authorization token in NetSuite, and test the connection. Data Management got the same in 26.10; this is the Data Exchange side.
Why it matters
If you run NetSuite with Oracle EPM, the integration no longer depends on a user's password that expires or a token based auth that someone set up years ago.
What to do
Register the integration in NetSuite, create the OAuth connection in Data Exchange, run one load in test, and then retire the old connection.
My take
I run NetSuite Planning work alongside Oracle EPM, and the handoff between the two is where credentials go stale. This closes it on the Oracle side.

Calculation Manager supports the Essbase tuple syntax

Calculation26.11AdminDevArrives onOracle's page ↗

Calc scripts in Calculation Manager now accept the Essbase tuple syntax, which targets specific combinations of sparse members instead of the whole cross product. Two rules: the tuple expression comes before the rest of the FIX member sets, and a tuple can contain sparse members only.
Why it matters
A rule that must calculate ten entity and product pairs no longer calculates the hundred combinations around them. Less scope, fewer blocks touched, shorter runs.
What to do
Find the rule with the widest FIX and the narrowest actual target and rewrite that one with tuples in test. Compare the run time and the result.
My take
This has been available in Essbase for a while and is one of the cleaner ways to cut over calculation. For Groovy driven rules it also means a generated FIX can name pairs rather than lists.

Account Reconciliation: filter lists in your own words

AI26.11AdminUserPotential setupOracle's page ↗Send to your admin
What changed
On the Profiles, Reconciliations and Transactions lists, the Reconciliation Balances and Detail Balances tabs, and the Matching page, you can type what you want to see instead of picking filter attributes, operators and values. Generative AI turns the request into filter conditions and applies them through the existing filter bar, so you can see and adjust what it chose.
Why it matters
The filter bar is the part of Account Reconciliation that new preparers struggle with. A sentence is easier than six dropdowns.
Steps to enable
From the Home page, select Application, then Configuration. In System Settings, select Artificial Intelligence, then Generative AI.
What to do
Turn on Generative AI under Application, Configuration, System Settings, and try the three requests your preparers ask most. Keep the filter bar visible so they learn what the words became.

Account Reconciliation: a Transaction Matching Configuration Assistant builds match types from a template

AI26.11AdminSetup requiredOracle's page ↗
What changed
A new assistant for AI Agent Studio creates and extends match types from an uploaded template that describes the data sources, attributes, match processes and rules. For a new match type it validates the file and creates the type after a Service Administrator approves. For an existing one it compares the template with what is there and adds only what is missing, keeping the current sources, attributes, processes, rules and conditions. The assistant ships as a JSON file on the Downloads page.
Why it matters
Match type setup is the slowest part of a Transaction Matching rollout and the easiest to get slightly wrong. A template that is validated and then applied is repeatable.
Steps to enable
Download the Transaction Matching Configuration Assistant file (a .json, named for Account Reconciliation) from the Downloads page and register it in Fusion AI Agent Studio, following How to Use EPM Assistants with AI Agent Studio in the Getting Started Guide for Administrators.
What to do
Write the template for your simplest match type first, bank to ledger, and let the assistant build it in test. Compare with the one you built by hand.

Enterprise PCM: the PCM Assistant for AI Agent Studio, and mass edits from the agent

AI26.11AdminUserPotential setupOracle's page ↗
What changed
A new PCM Assistant template covers what the earlier Interrogation and Calculation assistants did and adds more: list models, forms and POVs; create, copy and validate models; create and list rule sets; create, enable, disable and copy rules; add and replace rule members; search rule properties; query the application context; run calculations; manage POVs; create, list, run and inspect jobs; and analyse calculation performance. In the application itself, the enhanced PCM Agent's list rule commands now connect to the Mass Edit tab: list the rules that use a member, click View Rules in Mass Edit, then tell the agent to replace the member for the selected rules.
Why it matters
The example Oracle gives is the one that matters: a member that appears in 50 rules across a waterfall of 500. Find them by asking, change them all at once.
Steps to enable
Download the PCM Assistant template from the Downloads page and register it in Fusion AI Agent Studio, following How to Use EPM Assistants with AI Agent Studio.
What to do
Try the mass edit path on a test model with a member you plan to retire anyway. For the assistant, download the template and register it in AI Agent Studio.
My take
The waterfall maintenance problem is the one that eats PCM admins' time between closes. List by question, edit in bulk is the right answer to it.

Transaction Matching: the TM_AUDIT_TRAIL change moves to February (27.02), not November

Account Reconciliation26.11AdminDevDeadline: 27.02, Feb 2027Oracle's page ↗
What changed
Oracle's 26.11 document now dates the TM_AUDIT_TRAIL change to the February (27.02) update. Earlier documents, and the October review on this site, said November (26.11). The change itself is unchanged: several columns that store text (OBJECT_TYPE, FIELD_NAME, MODIFICATION_TYPE, SERVICE, MODIFIED_BY) will store numeric codes, and some values in OLD_VALUE and NEW_VALUE may appear as numeric strings.
Why it matters
If you rebuilt custom SQL reports on TM_AUDIT_TRAIL for a November cutover, they will keep working on the text columns until February. If you did not, you have three more months.
What to do
Keep the change on the plan for February. Update the reports to handle both forms and decode the codes with Oracle's mappings, and test against a 27.02 test environment in early February.
My take
A date that moves later is good news, as long as it moves in your plan too. It moved in the deadline calendar on this site today.

Enterprise Data Management: from 26.12, only Service Administrators and the Audit role read system events

EDM26.11AdminDeadline: 26.12, Dec 18Oracle's page ↗
What changed
Starting with the December (26.12) update, only Service Administrators and users with the Audit granular role can view or download system events from the Audit screen or through the REST API. Today any user can view them and Service Administrators can download them.
Why it matters
Anyone outside those two groups who checks system events, an auditor, a data steward, a support person, loses the screen on December 18.
What to do
List who reads system events today and give the Audit role to the ones who should keep reading them, before the December update. Check any script that pulls events by REST runs as a Service Administrator or an Audit role user.

Export data for shared members from an ASO cube

Administration26.11AdminDevArrives onOracle's page ↗

The Export Application Data REST API and the Export Data job on the Create Job screen can now include shared members when exporting an aggregate storage cube (the Include Shared Members option). Useful when an alternate hierarchy is the one a downstream system wants.

Sample scripts to clone an environment from its latest backup, for a standby

EPM Automate26.11AdminDevArrives onOracle's page ↗

New Linux and Windows PowerShell sample scripts, built on EPM Automate, clone the primary environment to a standby from the primary's latest environment backup. Oracle frames them as disaster recovery: schedule the script and the standby stays current. See Clone an Environment Using the Latest Environment Backup in Working with EPM Automate.

Account Reconciliation: REST APIs for formats, reconciliations and transactions, and an empty file option for imports

Account Reconciliation26.11AdminDevArrives onOracle's page ↗

A broad set of new REST APIs reads format information, works with reconciliation details, workflow actions and supporting information, and creates and manages transactions, amounts, action plans, comments and attachments. Separately, the Import Pre Mapped Transactions REST API and the importTmPremappedTransactions command take an optional onEmptyFile parameter: set it to warning and an empty input file completes the job instead of failing it. The empty file option ends a class of false alarms on quiet days; set it per import where an empty file is normal.

Holiday rules move to a Redwood screen, in Task Manager and in Account Reconciliation

Account Reconciliation26.11AdminArrives onOracle's page ↗

The screen for holiday rules is redesigned in the Redwood style on both sides: rules and dates edited in a side panel, better search and sorting, a change history, configurable columns, a date filter, and CSV import and export of holiday dates in YYYY-MM-DD format. Oracle marks the Account Reconciliation side as a larger scale change because the screen moves. Nothing to configure. If your calendar admin keeps holidays in a spreadsheet, the CSV import is the new way in.

The Data Loads - Manage granular role is now Balance Loads - Manage

Security26.11AdminArrives onOracle's page ↗

The role follows the 26.10 rename of data loads to balance loads. The new name appears in Manage Granular Roles and in the Role Assignment Report; existing assignments and the Service Administrator mapping do not change. Update the access matrix document, nothing else.

FCC and Tax Reporting: the Redwood home page, with announcements in a drawer and task counts by due date

FCC26.11AdminUserArrives onOracle's page ↗

The home page uses Redwood styling. Announcements sit in an expandable drawer that disappears when there are none. The Welcome panel shows task counts by due date for the selected year and period; the Year and Period link opens a drawer to change them or to show only your tasks, and a count opens the Worklist. Planning, FreeForm, Enterprise PCM and Account Reconciliation got this in 26.10. Tell the close team the counts on the home page are live and clickable.

Narrative Reporting extension 26.11 for Smart View: @mention in review comments, several contents embedded at once

Reports26.11AdminUserSetup requiredOracle's page ↗Send to your admin

An updated Narrative Reporting extension for Smart View, with two features behind it. Mention a colleague in a review comment with @ and they are notified, with a My Mentions filter in the ribbon and in the Report Center panel, as in the web interface. And in Word and PowerPoint, the Embed Contents dialog takes several available content items at once, Shift click and Ctrl click, embedded in the order you picked them, one after another in Word and on separate slides in PowerPoint. Install the extension from Smart View's Options, Extensions tab, or from the Narrative Reporting Downloads page.

Narrative Reporting: alternative text is kept, and report packages can publish as PDF/UA-1

Reports26.11AdminUserPotential setupOracle's page ↗

Report packages keep the author's alternative text on tables, charts and images in Word and PowerPoint doclets, including doclets authored in Smart View, and add the development markers only until the package is published. Content embedded from Excel and Report reference doclets can carry alternative text too. Report package owners can also enable Publish in PDF/UA-1 Format under Define Options; off by default, and Oracle is clear that it does not make a report compliant on its own, the source content needs titles and descriptions first. If a published report goes to readers who use a screen reader, switch the option on for that package and review the PDF once.

Download REST APIs keep non ASCII file names

REST API26.11AdminDevArrives onOracle's page ↗

A downloaded file with Japanese or other non ASCII characters in its name keeps that name; the response uses UTF-8 percent encoding in the Content-Disposition filename parameter. ASCII names work as before.

simulateConcurrentUsage runs several simulations in parallel on one environment

EPM Automate26.11AdminDevArrives onOracle's page ↗

The simulateConcurrentUsage EPM Automate command and its REST API now accept several independent simulations at the same time on the same environment, so a combined workload test takes one pass instead of several.

Strategic Modeling: hide the Key column in the Account View

Planning26.11AdminUserArrives onOracle's page ↗

A Hide/Unhide Key button on the toolbar of the Account View hides the Key column, so the grid looks more like a Planning form. The column shows by default.

Tax Reporting: insights from a form or dashboard, and an IPM-Manage granular role

AI26.11AdminUserArrives onOracle's page ↗

An Insights icon on a form or dashboard opens a panel with the pre generated insights for that point of view, grouped by type, with a GenAI summary when GenAI is on and the date the insights were last generated. An admin must have run the Insights job first. A new IPM-Manage granular role lets a Power User, User or Viewer configure and manage IPM jobs without a wider role. Give IPM-Manage to the person who runs the insights job if that person is not an admin.

Tax Reporting: SBIE average rate translation uses translated source values

Tax26.11AdminArrives onOracle's page ↗

The Pillar Two Substance Based Income Exclusion average logic now runs on translated source values from the prior and current year periods, rather than applying the average rate to the result. The new SBIE Average Translation Automation setting is on by default and can be switched off. Pillar Two teams: compare one entity's SBIE before and after in test and keep the setting on unless the numbers say otherwise.

Enterprise PCM keeps diagnostic statistics for the latest 500 calculation runs

PCM26.11AdminArrives onOracle's page ↗

Automatic cleanup now keeps diagnostic statistics for the most recent 500 calculation runs and removes older runs from Calculation Analysis. To keep by age instead, set the substitution variable EPCM_PURGE_JOB_RUNS_DAYS_OLDER to a number of days from 1 to 180 (the number only); a valid value takes precedence over the 500 run default. If you compare calculation runs across a quarter, set the variable to the number of days you need before the first purge takes the history.

Questions people ask

What changed in Oracle EPM 26.11?

26.11 is the release where the platform opens up: 141 new Cloud EPM Platform REST APIs for Planning and FreeForm (applications, cubes, dimensions, rules, forms, dashboards, data export and import, jobs, approval units, variables, Business Concepts, Insights, connections), 33 Strategic Modeling REST APIs, and new AI skills for infrastructure administration, data exploration and Strategic Modeling, with assistants for IPM Insights, PCM, FCC consolidation rules and Transaction Matching. Smart View 26.200 brings IPM Insights into Smart View and Reports into PowerPoint. FCC supports up to four additional consolidation cubes. Two things stop on November 20: the accountName.userName login format for EPM Automate and REST, and the original PCM Agent. Oracle also set a three month limit on one off patches and skipped updates, six with approval, and moved the TM_AUDIT_TRAIL change to February 2027.
